Als Mechanical Engineer Key User bij De Jong Combustion B.V. in Schiedam werk je aan mechanical, piping en structural engineering voor projecten rond branderinstallaties en skidbouw. Wat ga je doen?

Je bereidt Mechanical, Piping en Structural Engineering en ontwerpen voor toegewezen projecten voor, voert deze uit en levert ze op. Je maakt P&ID’s, ontwerpt multidisciplinaire leidingsystemen en werkt mechanische ontwerpen uit in 3D, inclusief constructieve en/of FEM-berekeningen. Ook lever en beheer je documentatie zoals constructietekeningen, montagetekeningen en handleidingen.

Als key user richt je de Inventor PDM-infrastructuur in, beheer je deze en verbeter je deze continu. Je werkt met parametrische modellen, PDM-databases, artikelbeheer en koppelingen met systemen zoals ERP. Daarnaast ondersteun je Sales met conceptontwerpen en P&ID’s en help je bij aftermarket-, garantie- en servicewerkzaamheden. Je combineert engineeringwerkzaamheden daarmee met digitale standaardisatie.

Wie zoeken wij?

We zoeken een ervaren engineer met kennis van mechanisch ontwerp, piping en PDM. Je werkt gestructureerd, communiceert proactief over de voortgang en bent in staat verbeteringen te signaleren en voor te stellen. Je past goed bij deze functie als je:

• Minimaal 4 jaar relevante werkervaring hebt, bij voorkeur in de procesindustrie of petrochemische industrie.
• HBO werk- en denkniveau hebt in Werktuigbouwkunde, Civiele Techniek of vergelijkbaar.
• Ervaring hebt met constructieve en/of FEM-berekeningen, piping design en stromings- en sterkteberekeningen.
• Kennis hebt van normen zoals PED CE, NEN-EN, ASME en DIN.
• Ervaring hebt met Autodesk Vault of een vergelijkbaar PDM-systeem.

Mechanical Engineer

Do you enjoy combining mechanical engineering and digital innovation? Are you energized by piping design, 3D engineering and optimizing PDM processes? As a Mechanical Engineer at De Jong Combustion B.V., you play a key role in both engineering projects and the continuous improvement of our engineering infrastructure.

You will be working on complete burner systems including burner fuel trains (with gas pressure reducing station, fuel flow measurement, double-block-bleed), burner management systems (BMS), combustion air systems, flow distribution systems on burner installations and skid systems for industrial customers across the Netherlands and abroad.

What will you do?

As Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical, piping and structural engineering for a wide range of projects. In addition, you take ownership of the Inventor PDM environment and contribute to the ongoing standardization and digitalization of engineering processes.

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing, executing and delivering mechanical, piping and structural engineering packages.
• Creating and maintaining P&IDs.
• Designing multidisciplinary piping systems and mechanical equipment in 3D.
• Performing structural analyses and FEM calculations.
• Preparing construction drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and technical manuals.
• Supporting Sales with concept designs, technical proposals and P&IDs.
• Providing engineering support for aftermarket, warranty and service activities.
• Acting as key user for Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
• Managing and improving PDM databases, article structures and ERP integrations.
• Developing and maintaining parametric models and engineering standards.

Who are we looking for?

You are an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical design with process improvement and standardization. You communicate proactively, work in a structured manner and actively identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency and quality.

You bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the process or petrochemical industry.
• Experience with piping design, flow calculations and strength calculations.
• Experience with structural and/or FEM analyses.
• Knowledge of standards and regulations such as PED CE, NEN-EN, ASME and DIN.
• Experience with Autodesk Vault or a comparable PDM system.
• Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
